Common Problems with Capacitors
High-voltage capacitors can be used to improve the power supply efficiency of electrical equipment, and high efficiency and time saving are its advantages. Its disadvantage is that it is easy to cause harmful events such as explosions after the failure is not repaired in time. Therefore, attention must be paid to the timing inspection of high-voltage capacitors when using high-voltage capacitors. The following are common failures of high voltage capacitors:
1. The temperature of the capacitor is too high: the voltage generated by the capacitor during operation and the nearby rectifier device will cause the capacitor to exceed the rated temperature on the line. In addition, the design of some capacitor chambers is unreasonable, which is conducive to poor ventilation conditions and the indoor too closed. It is easy to cause the temperature to rise.
2. Oil leakage: Incorrect handling method or lifting the insulating sleeve will cause cracks in the flange welding, or when wiring, excessively tightening the screws will cause damage to the insulating sleeve, which will cause capacitor damage. Cause of oil leakage. Long-term operation will cause the paint layer of the capacitor's shell to fall off and also lead to oil leakage. If the temperature of the capacitor is too high, the oil leakage will be as bad as adding oil to the fire. As a result, the impregnating agent is reduced, and the capacitor is damaged due to moisture in the components. Therefore, we should deal with the oil leakage phenomenon.
3. Explosion of capacitors: If the internal components of the capacitor are broken down, it will be discharged with other capacitors. If the energy is too large in the past, it will cause an explosion. The explosion will not only cause danger to all surrounding equipment, but also cause fire. Seriously, it will endanger human life.
4. Shell expansion: Under the action of voltage, the internal medium of the capacitor will dissociate, or when the component is broken down, it will cause the medium to evolve gas. In the sealed shell, these gases will cause an increase in pressure, which will cause the shell to expand.
